Judo Black was born in Covington, Georgia on November 3, 1988. He was raised in Monroe, Georgia in his younger years until he graduated from high school. He attended Monroe Area High School where he played varsity football. After graduating high school, he attended ITT Technical Institute where he obtained an Associate degree in Drafting and Design. He later obtained his Bachelor degree from the University of West Georgia, and his Master’s degree from the University of North Georgia. Judo Black self-published his first novel on November 3, 2017 at the age of 29. Judo Black first found a passion for writing during his younger years in middle school. Math was his favorite subject, but he really enjoyed adding life to stories that he would often write during Literature class. He married the love of his life; Julia Maria Matthews Lee; at the age of 25 shortly after graduating from West Georgia. They plan on starting a family in the near future to complement their dog Queen. His goal is to become a full-time writer of books, movies, and stage plays. Some of Judo Black’s role models include Tyler Perry, James Patterson, Steven King, and Wes Craven. Judo credits his passion for writing after seeing the Scream movie series. The mystery of the movies is the same suspense that he tries to bring alive in his writings. Judo writes in different genres, showing his diverse abilities as a writer. Judo currently lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia. When he’s not writing, Judo enjoys spending time with his wife at parks, taking vacations, and being competitive.
